Largo Bay Sailing Club- LBSC
Description
Largo Bay Sailing Club is one of Scotland's premier dinghy racing clubs. The bay provides great shelter for a whole range of water-sports activities. Largo Bay Sailing Club is a dinghy racing club on the south coast of Fife less than an hour from Edinburgh and Perth. The bay is sheltered, little affected by the tides and is reckoned to be one of the best sailing areas in Scotland. We have handicap racing on Sundays from March to October with an additional race on Wednesday evenings from May to the beginning of September.
There is an Open Regatta, usually in June, a Closed Regatta in August and five other trophy races which, along with the Series races, makes some 90 races per season.
A number of years ago we opened an extension to the clubhouse giving us bigger changing rooms and increasing the number of showers threefold. A state of the art gas boiler has been installed to ensure these showers can run hot forever! We have an active junior training section using the club Laser Picos and are currently developing an adult training facility using Laser 2000s that we hope will bring sailors back into the sport.

Just a last minute reminder to everyone that tonight’s AGM is in : The Old Manor Hotel 7.00 for 7.30 pm. See you all there
Hi All First of all can I thank everyone who came to the Laying Up Supper on Friday and helped support the club and made it a great night. Secondly it is that time in the clubs calendar when we have to say goodbye to the current commodore Peter Malcolm, as we thank him for his stewardship over the last two years. The official handover will take place at the AGM this Wednesday 16th November at The Old Manor at 7.30pm. We have had a few low attendances at this event in the last couple of years and we took the decision this year to use the Old Manor where we can all have a drink and a chat before hand and make it a slightly more up market affair than our normal chilly November in the clubhouse. This is a good opportunity for all members to get together and discuss club matters that are vital to the clubs ongoing future and development, but also to welcome the new Commodore Kevan Gibb and his team as he takes up the mantle for the next two years. We look forward to seeing as many members on Wednesday night as possible.
