facebook.comAnother race, another trip down the A9 for us at LKT. It's a 1016 mile round trip to Whilton Mill in Northamptonshire, so you can't say we don't love karting! As always, if you're looking to keep up to date with our race weekend, keep an eye on our page.
A manic race for the Team this weekend. After qualifying on wet tires, we decided to make an inspired move to change onto slicks for the start. Both 66 and 99 missed the start, but joined the race over a lap down as the rest of the field started on wets. Soon, the gamble became apparent as Richie Mason and Ali Matthews were out on track running 1st & 2nd overall. As everyone else pitted to change to slicks, Lossie set about bridging a gap and lapping the field. Hasty repairs on 99 after an unavoidable incident with Olly Waind driving saw 66 lead 99 until the end of the race. For those following the live timing you would have seen that 66&99 finished 2nd and 3rd provisonally. However, in post-race scrutineering 99 and the overall race winner (96) were disqualified for weight post infrigements. As much as a pain as this is, this did mean that 66 earned the Team's best ever result of a 1st overall and 1st military. As the picture demonstrates, a disqualification is bad, but you can be sure we'll be ahead of you at the next race. 66 Drivers - Ryan Longely, Shaun Newton, Ali Matthews 99 Drivers - Oliver Waind, Ross Morgan, Richie Mason

A beautiful morning in west Cumbria, hope it stays like this. Both karts have been looking strong in practice, and they'll need to be on the edge with the quality of the field in our race. Qualifying this afternoon, race first thing tomorrow. It's going to be a good one!
Our home race at Larkhall will be remembered for some time. Qualifying in 1st and 2nd is a first-time achievement for the Team, showcasing the improvements already made throughout the year so far. Through no fault of our own, 66 and Shaun Newton suffered from a Turn 1 "fire and forget" move, resulting in emergency repairs for a broken track rod, minutes into the 3 hour race. However, 66 rejoined with the same pace demonstrated in practice and qualifying at the hands of both Ross Morgan and Shaun Newton. 99 started strongly, remaining in the lead, gapping the field nicely throughout the first stint. With strong pace displayed against rival teams, the race win was eventually decided to pitstop strategy, where in hindsight, 99 chose a strategy which surrendered 1st place to Waddington. Trouble free stints from Ali Matthews and Olly Waind made sure of 2nd place, which is the highest finish the Team has ever achieved. Sadly, at the end of an eventful race, 66 was disqualified for an incident that took place on the last lap/post race. Mixed fortunes for the Team, but again, plenty of positives to take away. Both Karts had pace other teams found very difficult to compete with, and excellent teamwork from all involved, which contributed to us taking home our first pieces of silverware of the season. On to the next race, Rowrah at the end of May. On the Edge!
