Just a few of the fabulous commissions I've had over the past 18 months.

Two small lampshades made with a gorgeous vintage Liberty fabric. There can only be 2 of these as I only have small scraps of this fabric left. The lampshades measure 20cm diameter, 18cm high. They are £30 each , or £50 for the pair incl UK p&p. Just comment Sold to buy or message me!!! Nicki xx

Apologies to all my wonderful page followers - I have been AWOL in recent months!! But I'm still here,working away!! Instagram is my platform of choice at the moment so please pop over and follow me there (@Quilterdown). These pictures show a bedroom set I have been working on after spotting the most luscious vintage fabric for sale on Instagram. Mid seventies John Lewis fabric - not my usual style but I couldn't resist!! This set (bed runner,2 lampshades and 2 cushions) is for sale,as a set or separately. I will post prices and details tomorrow. All the fabrics are vintage ,apart from the silk in the bedrunner. If you are interested ,please contact me. Hope you're all having a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!! I've been busy in the studio, finally getting to work with this beautiful vintage fabric! The aim is to make a "bedroom set" - lampshades, cushions & a bed runner ( adding some beautiful silks). The lampshades are done and the cushions are nearly finished! I've also been busy planning some more workshops - these will be more handsewing & more "mindful" types of workshops, just for the summer. As well as a new fortnightly club where you can bring along any type of stitching project ( incl knitting/crochet), have a chat & a drink ( and cake of course). This will be an evening club - and I've named it StitcheryDoDa !! The cost will be £5 per 2 hour session and I will let you know as soon as I've decided the start date. I've taken a week off from normal studio work this week in order to "play" in my studio and have a bit of a rest!! The daisy picture is a piece of textile art I've made this week - using vintage lace, paint,linen, vintage threads, free motion embroidery & hand embroidery! I am wondering whether to run a workshop for something like this? Let me know! The other pictures here are of commissions that went to their new homes in the past few weeks. After Easter I will be working on another new commission - this time a country cottage style patchwork tablecloth! Watch this space! Revamped by Sara

Something a little different - Sara of Revamped by Sara, asked me to make a new cover for a stool she'd bought for her husband!! Making a circle the right size gave my brain a good workout BUT here is the stool, beautifully finished by Sara using the cover I made!!!! "LOVE YOUR SEWING MACHINE" - New Workshop Date!! The next workshop for anyone with a sewing machine they want to learn to use is - SATURDAY APRIL 6th 10am-12.30 (approx end time) Learn the basics of your machine and make a "bag for life" using fabrics from my collection. Tea/coffee and cake provided. Simply message me here if you would like to take part. I already have one participant and have room for a maximum of 3 more! I am happy to work out more dates (during the Easter holidays if anyone prefers a week day workshop) but am also currently planning a patchwork workshop as well as a fortnightly craft club,so the beginners machine workshops will only be held occasionally. Cost of Workshop - £25 ,payable via Paypal on booking confirmation. Nicki x

I don't usually share videos here BUT this is a must!! I'm in the process of sorting out dates for the next Love Your Machine beginner's workshops - and I can promise you that you will be far more confident and learn much quicker than this poor chap!!

Another workshop today - just lovely Jo this time as illness took out the other participant BUT we had a great time. Jo brought her own Moomin fabric so got a quick pattern cutting lesson too!! Jo has been a customer of mine for years so it was nice to catch up and to pass on some of my knowledge!! I will be planning some more "beginners" workshops as well as some more advanced workshops, including patchwork, so watch this space!!
