The Instagram craze that was ACTUALLY a dating app! As 2015 drew to a close, you may have seen a whole bunch of people on your Instagram posting collages of their #2015bestnine. These were their nine most ‘liked’ photos on the photo-sharing app from the past 12 months, and over 15 million people created their very own Instagram memory montage. The collages were generated through 2015bestnine.com, and seemed to a one-off that just happened to go viral. That was of course, until they got an email prompt to pre-register for a soon-to-be-released matchmaking service. 130,000 people signed up, and are now the members of “Nine”, a dating app that matched people through their Instagram photo collages. Yep, #2015bestnine was a Trojan horse for a dating app! Quinoa salad bars and DIY burgers Inside the world s poshest McDonald that is coming to a street...
Would you like Quinoa with that? It’s the favourite haunt of students, hungry office workers and the hungover everywhere. Those golden arches are famous the world over, and you’d be hard-pushed to find someone who’s never chowed down on a Big Mac or Happy Meal in their time. But, fast food fans, I heard some news this week that’s enough to make even the ever-cheerful Ronald McDonald shed a tear or two. McDonalds is having a makeover…and its new direction might surprise you. McDonalds Next is a “modern and progressive” makeover for the chain that has seen the red and yellow colour scheme replaced with black and silver décor and polished podiums. It’s a far cry from the interior we’re used to. Not only that, but you can sample the delights of their new salad bar, quinoa dishes and premium coffee. McDonalds Next restaurants will even offer table service after 6pm, self-ordering kiosks and a “Create Your Taste” feature where you can customise your own burger But don’t worry if you’re a big fan of the Fillet’O’Fish. You’ll still be able to enjoy your McDonalds favourites, just in this new setting. The first McDonalds Next has opened in Hong Kong, and I’m sure it won’t be long before we’re sampling their delights here on UK soil.
