Here some great photos taken by our good friend Melvyn Hamid of the Chinese New Year Charity night with the Liverpool Lord Mayor Tony Concepcion & HPBC. It was a fab night plus it was for a great cause with auctions, tombola, raffles!!! We also had Gary Skyner give a few jokes on the mic;-)

***CHINESE NEW YEAR WITH LIVERPOOL LORD MAYOR*** We have another great night coming to celebrate Chinese New Year with the Lord Mayor Tony Concepcion on THURSDAY 18TH FEBRUARY 2016. Join the Lord Mayor at the Chinese New Year Charity Dinner at the Chung Ku Restaurant on Thursday 18th February from 7pm. To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Year of the Monkey. Just £25.00 per ticket which includes a 3 course meal, fire cracker display, traditional Chinese dancing, a tombola and raffle prize draw. Half the proceeds will go towards the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal and the other half to HPCS (Housing People Building Community). Rick Stein's Taste of Shanghai
Rick Stein makes a great program about Shanghai or Shanghaiese food. His first stop is the dumplings called 'Sew Lun Bau' or 'Sau Lun Bau'. To eat it you need to nip & suck the soup to eat them. All available here in the Liverpool Chinese Restaurant- Chung Ku!!!! The 'Sew Lun Bau' dumplings or Shanghai 'Wartip' 2. The Braised Belly Pork in possibly pickled veg or in Yam. 3. The crab here at Chung Ku we can do a Soft Shell Crab OR best in King Prawn cooked in Salted Egg & garlic and leek! 4. Steamed fish of many from Dover Sole, Sea Bass & Turbot. 5. Boiled Chicken or Boiled Prawns in the shell with a choice of Soya Sauce in Corriander & Garlic possibly with Chillis too!!!! All traditional and can be eaten here at Chung Ku.
