The Baltic Triangle is an historic area, close to the Albert Dock - Liverpool's World Heritage Site - and Liverpool One, the city's newest shopping zone.
The area was once a workshop and warehouse district handling the global trade from Liverpool's docks during the 18th and 19th Centuries. It is now experiencing a renaissance and is quickly becoming home to a diverse range of creative and digital industries. Photographers, artists, fashion designers, digital agencies, architects, film-makers, recording studios, places to eat, nightlife venues, internationally acclaimed arts festivals and galleries exist and work alongside existing factories, workshops and warehouses.
The City Council has also made a commitment to the area improving roads and pavements and investors are bringing new life (and new use) to some stunning period architecture. Over the past 5 years its character has started to change significantly and has benefited from residential investment and investment into creative businesses including the NWDA/ERDF funded Contemporary Urban Centre and A Foundation. These new users have increased footfall in the area particularly due to events and exhibitions hosted by the various cultural and creative venues.
