Great Night last night with the bike mechanics at the URC Church in West Kirby - Stars of the Show: the Women Together Choir. Grooooooovy!
Well, well well, or as we say in Glasgow, jings, crivens help ma boab, Twitter has informed me that we have 17 notifications! Not being much of an officionado but realising I should at least do something, here are a few of them. Monica was on the Wireless on Sunday morning - Radio Merseyside - talking about this coming Saturday's concert in West Kirby. There's a quick reminder of Christmas and also a pic of the Women's Choir (who will be singing on Saturday amongst others). It's our last full practice today after the Zumba Dancers have finished. Cheers Ewan

Immigration detention: Self-help and practical solidarity Liverpool, 24 January This workshop is for people at risk of immigration detention, and for people helping those at risk. Anyone who has not been granted leave to remain in the UK, as a refugee or under any other immigration status, is at risk of being taken and held in an immigration detention centre. This can happen suddenly at any time, but there are certain times in the legal process when you are more at risk. Being in this situation can be very stressful. Being detained can be very traumatic. But there are many things you can do to prepare in case this happens, to make it less likely to happen, to make it less traumatic if it does happen, and to get out and back home more quickly. This workshop, based on the Right to Remain Toolkit, will help you to understand immigration detention, to prepare in case detention happens, to reduce the damage it causes, and will look at practical steps that you can take to help yourself or to help others. Wednesday 24th January, 6.00-8.00pm Venue: St Dunstans Church. Earle Road, Edge Hill. Liverpool L7 6HD The workshop is free and unticketed, and open to all. However, you can really help us out by registering in advance, so that we have a better idea of numbers. Please register online: http://detention.org.uk/preparing-in-case-of-detention-workshop-liverpool-24-jan-2018/

We're delighted to share that Lara Favaretto's 24-tonne artwork raised ✨£1,224✨ for Asylum Link Merseyside and the vital work they do with refugees and asylum seekers. A heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who donated! We had the honour of handing the money over to the amazing staff and volunteers at Asylum Link's HQ, where Andrea Bowers' 'City of Sanctuary' sign has fittingly resided since it was commissioned for Biennial 2012. #larafavaretto #asylumlink #charity #contemporaryart #liverpoolbiennial #liverpool #andreabowers #cityofsanctuary Photo: Niall Lea
