An hour with Steve Leighton, our roaster and head of Hasbean, as he launches his new book, Coffeeography: The Coffee Producers, which focuses on those who do the most important coffee work of all: the growing of it! Steve will share some of his many stories about building the relationships that allows Hasbean to showcase the hard work of so many coffee producers. He will be joined by Dale Harris, the newly-crowned World Barista Champion, to cup some of Hasbean's amazing coffees and share a few stories of his recent win in Seoul. Afterwards, attendees can get themselves a perfect flat white, craft beer or glass of wine. ABOUT HASBEAN Hasbean was started by Steve Leighton, generally know as ‘a bit of a character’ in the coffee industry. Steve originally started experimenting with roasting different coffees at home and now offers a huge selection of over 60 different coffees in a year. Hasbean’s red & white branding has become synonymous with quality, this is due to a fantastic direct relationship with producers and farmers worldwide. Their fun, informative, friendly videos try and break down some of the confusing bumph that comes with specialty coffee. ABOUT STEPHEN LEIGHTON A coffee obsessed roaster from Stafford England, I love everything about being the managing director and owner of Hasbean Coffee. Starting 10 years ago in my garage at home, I now run a successful team of people to roast some of the finest coffee in the world. ABOUT DALE HARRIS Where Steve manages the Hasbean's relationships with coffee producers, Dale manages Hasbean's relationships with their wholesale customers, something he's done since 2010. He also, incidentally, happens to have recently won the title of World Barista Champion at the 2017 Cafe & Bakery Show in Seoul, South Korea. Light bites will be available to buy on the evening.
