St Patrick's AFC
Description
St Patrick's AFC was established in 1977 and will be celebrating 40 years as a club this season. St Patrick's AFC was established in 1977 and will be celebrating 40 years as a club next season.
The club originated from the St Patrick's Social Club on Abbey Street. It was founded by school friends including Tom Shearer, John Higgins and Gus O'Gorman. Hughie Geratty was in charge in the early days with subsequent managers including Tom Shearer, Pat Lennon, Gus O'Gorman and Noel Melvin. Today it is led by the Brennan twins, Craig and Shaun.
Twelve players in the current squad have family members that played in the original team. We have been based at The Emerald Centre on Gipsy Lane since 1997 (formerly The LISCA). The Centre is also home to Naomh Padraig, Leicester Gaelic Football Club, for which many of the squad play.
The Pats are and always have been a club steeped in Irish Heritage. The current squad is almost solely comprised of 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Irish lads, that have played for the Pats and together for more than a decade.
The club has had great support over the years from the likes of Ant Moran and Bill Shearer and his family. The Emerald Centre and its Trustees are proud to support and host the Club and preserve its history. We have also had very generous support from Jonny and Leah at the brilliant pub, The Cradock Arms, in Knighton.

Harsh reality of football and gutted for Ranieri but I think Kante won Leicester the league not the manager. St Patrick's AFC would have handled it better though. #inthebrennanswetrust
