Mini Professors Leicester South
Description
Fun pre-school science classes for 2-4 year olds in Leicester South. Mini Professors is the first science program that has been designed specifically for preschool children. These 40 minute brand new classes are aimed at 2-4 year olds introducing the concept of science and showing children and parents alike what great fun can be had and also how much science is around us every day. With 72 different topics spanning 2 years, your child will learn something new each week!
Each session has 2 hands-on experiments, there is a specific story and a 2 minute bespoke video about the topic of the day. The class is a fabulous way to encourage early learning and is also a gentle introduction to skills required for starting school, such as social skills, concentration, sharing and turn taking.
For mums new to Mini Professors, I would love to offer you and your little one a free taster
session at one of my classes so that you can experience them first hand. Just contact me via facebook or on my mobile to confirm your place if you are interested.

Hi everyone, hope you all enjoyed your 'Desert' adventures and 'Brain' games last week. Not to mention meeting Fred the Frog :) He's very happy now with all his brothers and sisters in his big new home, the pond, so hopefully he'll help to provide some more frogspawn for us next year! This week our younger Mini Professors will be learning about 'Maths'. Maths is all around us, so useful and such good fun. Our Mini Professors will be using bears and bean bags to demonstrate just that :). Our older professors will be discovering 'Evolution' - exactly where we come from and what our very first descendants looked like. Who is Charles Darwin and how much do we resemble the monkeys? :) Hope to see you there Professor Tracey xx #MiniProfessors #MarketHarborough #Whetstone #KirbyMuxloe #Wigston #Oadby #Evolution #Maths #ScienceIsFun
Creating Sand Dunes - Simple Play Ideas
And we hope that our younger Professors are enjoying learning about the 'Desert' and the plants and animals that live there. How about looking at pictures of different animals on the internet this weekend, or print some off, and ask your Mini Professor to classify them into 'Desert' and 'Non-desert'? Or for something a little more fun, have a go at creating your own sand dunes! (see below - nb: do keep an eye on your Professor during this activity to make sure they do not get sand in their eyes, or inhale instead of blow!): http://www.simpleplayideas.com/creating-sand-dunes

Hi everyone, hope all my professors have been busy exploring and questioning the world around them this half term. Here at HQ we have been busy preparing and packing so that we can do some more amazing experiments together. This week my older groups will be exploring their 'Brains' and discovering how they amazing they are :). What are the basic areas in your brain, how delicate is it and how do we protect it? What does it weigh? How big is it?? The younger classes will be going deep into the 'Desert' to discover what the weather is like there. Does anything live there and how would they survive? We will have a go at making our very own mini desert scene - let's hope we have the weather to go with it this week ;) See you all in class! Woolsthorpe Manor
Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great Bank Holiday weekend. This is just a reminder that there will be NO Mini Professor classes this week coming as it is the half-term holidays. Classes will resume as usual on Monday 5 June. If you fancied doing something 'science-y' this week, why not take a trip to Sir Isaac Newton's birthplace and family home - Woolsthorpe Manor where there is a hands-on science centre for your Mini Professors to get involved in. Pop-up science activities will also take place on the weekends over the summer season - check their website for details. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/woolsthorpe-manor

10 Simple Steps to Creating a Bee Friendly Garden
And now that we have found out how awesome Honey Bees are and how important they are to us, perhaps your Mini Professor would like to help you create a more bee-friendly garden, here's how: http://kidsinthegarden.co.uk/10-simple-steps-to-creating-a-bee-friendly-garden/
Submarine Safaris Kids Club
Hi everyone, hope your Mini Professors are enjoying learning about 'Water Pressure' & 'Honey Bees' this week. Did you know that the weight of water is what causes pressure in the oceans to increase with depth. The deeper you go, the more water there is up above you pressing down - and that makes things particularly challenging for submarine designers and scuba divers. Why not have a go at creating your own submarine this weekend with your Mini Professors. This is a great one to get Dads/Grandads/Older Siblings involved! http://www.submarinesafaris.com/kids_build_your_own_submarine.php
