Well done to everyone that completed the #LondonMarathon yesterday. Hopefully you are in one piece and recovering well! Tired and stiff muscles will appreciate a warm bath and a gentle stretch afterwards. Before starting back easy running over the next couple of weeks consider a sports massage or physio check up. If you were inspired by those competing yesterday and would like to start running or return to the sport at CSPC we can help! Our physios are experienced in treating runners of all abilities and introducing newbies to the sport. The CSPC Get Active Full Body MOT can help you to get started and those already with the running bug consider a CSPC Runner's Full Body MOT with running technique assessment. http://www.cspc.co.uk/index.php/services/mot/

The physiotherapists see a number of young athletes, for treatment, at the clinic and CSPC physiotherapist Louisa Edmonston took some time out to advise the junior mountain running team on how to best look after themselves. Louisa advised the youngsters on strength and conditioning, good breathing technique, recovery, immunity, sleep and over training syndrome. Hopefully, the advice stuck and we will only be seeing healthy mountain runners for the odd check up and MOT!

Blog #20: Bullet Proof!
An interesting insight to distance runners Team New Balance's approach to staying injury free aka bullet proof. CSPC physiotherapist Graeme Everard spent some time with the team back in September, when he screened each of the athletes. Their coach, Steve Vernon, emphasises the importance of finding a good physiotherapist as a starting point in helping his athletes stay fit and healthy. CSPC offer a Runner's Full Body MOT with running technique assessment - a 90 minute appointment that looks at you from head to toe assessing posture, strength, flexibility, functional stability, proprioception, breathing and your running technique and efficiency. To book please call a memebr of our admin team on 0113 2750606 https://teamnbmcr.com/2017/02/22/bullet-proof/

CSPC Open day
Join us in the fight against pain this Saturday 25th February 10 am - 12 noon. We often see people at the clinic who have been struggling this way for some time, believing that pain was simply their body’s way of telling them they were getting old, should slow down, give up activities they enjoy or take daily painkillers to mask the problem. There is another way and physiotherapy can help - please help spread the word and share our event across FB.
