The Million Pound Build for Children in Need! Belgrade hitched up the wagons and headed to Swansea to support the DIY SOS team tackle their biggest challenge to date: building a centre and supported housing for young people in care and leaving care. We donated Knauf rock fibre and facilitated the supply of Kingspan PIR boards. Despite bad weather and a tight 11 day build schedule the team with the help of hundreds of volunteers built a bespoke new centre and transitional flats for the Roots Foundation Wales. Belgrade have supported a number of DIY SOS projects across the UK; we welcome the chance to support local communities in the areas we trade and support those less fortunate than ourselves. BBC – DIY SOS: The Big Build The most recent project in Telford was televised last week. Belgrade supplied a mix of products: PIR Board for underfloor insulation, Cavity Wall batts, Loft Roll and Cavity Fire Stops. A complicated but emotional build that tested all trades and suppliers but created a converted house that enabled a young lad to return home after 12 months in the hospital. Dominic Chidlow from Belgrade Birmingham attended the “reveal” and is pictured above with well-known interior designer Gabrielle Blackman. BBC ONE - THE BIG BUILD Belgrade have a commitment to support the communities in which they trade and a firm belief in helping those less fortunate than themselves. The programme on election night featured a deserving family from the Isle of Sheppey. Belgrade were pleased to support the project with the donation of Insulation for the walls and roof space. This project was the first complete new build carried out by the "Big Build" team. Belgrade were proud sponsors of the South Lancs Counties Football League Unity Cup which resulted in a decisive win for Winstanley Warriors against Standish United. New Trucks for Birmingham! Continued expansion at our Birmingham branch sees three new trucks that will deliver service to our wide customer base. Three 26 tonne DAF curtain siders with Palfinger mechanical offload have been added to the branch fleet The three vehicles have been accredited for Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) which maintains the highest level of safety. The trucks are fitted with an "Aztec Window" on their nearside which gives the driver improved blind - spot visibility. They are the first Belgrade trucks to be fitted with both reversing and near side cameras that ensure cyclists and pedestrians can be seen by the driver. Belgrade Inter-branch Tournament. On Saturday 4th of March, Belgrade hosted their first Inter-branch football tournament with a guest appearance from Knauf Drywall.
