North Ronaldsay is the place to be today! The Airfield has had more planes arriving than Heathrow this morning with folk coming to see the red-winged black bird - a first for the UK
One of the best bits about airbandbing Verracott is all the lovely people we get to meet :-) Our most recent guests were Fredrik and Veronica from Sweden (and their delightful dogs Gordon and Pedro). They're self described 'digital nomads' who have been travelling around Europe, doing their day jobs online as they go and choosing wonderful and unique Airbandb houses to stay in along the way. Orkney's their last stop before they head back to the north of Sweden to spend the summer sailing. Here's the note they left in the visitor book... 'We felt relaxed and at home in beautiful Verracott. We enjoyed the coastline walks accompanied by curious seals, birds, cows and sheep. After a long walk with the dogs we enjoyed the fire places - cosy! It was fun reading The Nordic Cook Book. We had some sun and sat outside drinking coffee, listening to the roar of the sea.'

Another amazing night sky out here in North Ronaldsay, the stars look close enough to touch this evening... A refreshing jog, followed by a cheeky wee Johnsmas + t by the fire = bliss :-)
One week since Hogmanay already, I can hardly believe it! We took advantage of the mild weather this afternoon and had a lovely stroll along the sand at Linklet - nothing beats being by the sea :-) Wishing everyone a very wonderful 2017 x
Wishing everyone a merry and cosy Christmas from a very windy North Ronaldsay x
