Howe of Fife 22 Kirkcaldy 23 - Match 13, BT National League Division 2. Photos by Michael Booth
Howe of Fife 22 Kirkcaldy 23 - the Blues claimed victory with a try at the death in an enthralling Fife derby to extend their advantage at the top of the league. Howe opened the scoring with two tries before Josh Laird pulled one back and a couple of Finlay Smith kicks narrowed the gap to 12-10. The home side added their third try to make it 17-10 at half-time. Sean McKervail dived over in the corner early in the second half with a Smith penalty putting the Blues in the lead. A late yellow card allowed Howe to score their fourth try but Kirkcaldy regained possession in the final play which allowed Rhys Bonner to run in and snatch the win. Meanwhile the 2ndXV lost 10-33 at home to Blairgowrie, a few late tries for the visitors adding to the half-time score of 10-19.
Thoughts from Josh Laird after a last minute try got the win against Howe 👊
Lineup for tomorrow's match against Howe of Fife - 3pm kick-off at Cupar as the Blues look to extend their lead at the top. 🏉 Meanwhile at Beveridge Park, the 2ndXV face Blairgowrie at 12.15, followed by Wales 🏴 v Scotland 🏴 in the clubhouse at 2.15. 📺🍺 On Sunday the Ladies travel across the Forth to play Broughton at 2pm. Kirkcaldy 28 Whitecraigs 7 - Match 12, BT National League Division 2. Photos by Michael Booth
Kirkcaldy 28 Whitecraigs 7 - tough match at a windy Beveridge Park, but the Blues did enough to claim the win and move seven points clear in the league. Rhys Bonner opened the scoring after three minutes, with brother Owen and then Connor Wood extending the lead. However Whitecraigs didn't make things easy and replied with a try of their own, 21-7 at half-time. Josh Laird went over to secure the bonus point, before the Blues had to withstand some heavy pressure late on. All four tries were converted by Finlay Smith. The 2ndXV match was called off, while the Under 18s lost 46-12 away at Ellon. Tomorrow the Ladies play Glasgow University at home, 2pm kick-off.
A massive weekend of fixtures for the club!!!!Good luck to U16 and Colts in the cup. The seconds away to Stirling County looking for a win, and the 1st XV home to Whitecraigs 3pm KO. Tomorrow the Kirkcaldy Ladies take on Glasgow Uni at 2pm at home. Good luck everyone!

Relaxing in the evening sun
And that's a wrap, on what has personally an absolutely sensational season! Started back in August with a hard pre season with the University of St. Andrews RFC then went onto an amazing Varsity victory at Murrayfield, as well as 4 great league campaigns across the club, Scottish Students XV analyst and 7s Head Coach at the Home Nations, Melrose 7s, our own 7s tournament, then ending with our club dinner and winning the plate at Kirkcaldy 7s the very next day! Couldn't ask to work with a better bunch of people as I do at St. Andrews and I can't wait for next season! Next up, I will be playing for Cyprus against Croatia, in what will be my last ever game of rugby before retirement, and then heading out to New Zealand to work with the Canterbury Crusaders, so an exciting month or so ahead! #Exciting #Saints
