Sad news today: Alonadene, who would have been due to foal at the beginning of April, aborted two big foals overnight.

I'm surprised and delighted that Fourmerk won the Highland Pony exhibitor's points prize at the Central Scotland 5 Shows. Drymen, Gargunnock, Stirling, Doune and Dunblane and Braco Shows: it was an honour to win this. Thank you!

12 year old Fourmerk Royal Scott at his home in Victoria, Australia. He's the mouse dun. He is full brother to Royal Caledonian of Fourmerk (Cally) who was RHS Ridden Champion last year. Taken to Australia by Scott McGregor, he was sold to Sarah McAndrew and is now at Pamtab Park Stud. Lovely to see him looking so well and great that his semen has been collected.

Somewhat late in mentioning Braco Show results! We took Rum, Lizzie and Rosebud to do both M&M and Highland Pony sections. Lizzie - when she last at a show is lost in the mists! - was 4th in her Highand class

Better late than never: Braco Show results! We showed in both the M&M and Highland Pony sections which meant running around to make sure we didn't miss our classes. M&M: Rosebud, yearing filly was 2nd and qualified for NPS Malvern; and Lizzie, who hadn't been at a show for years, was 4th. In the Highland section, Rosebud was 1st and best 2/3 yr old filly and got a trophy for best 2/3 year old filly and Rum and Lizzie were both 4th in their classes.

So true!

We took Teal and Rosebud (2 year old fillies) and Marilla and Fling (yearling fillies) to RHS. All behaved well, but only one ticket - 6th for Marilla. Only just received these photos from Adrian Sinclair Photography. We took Vicki's Rum and Fling to Doune & Dunblane. The new field layout was much bettter, despite Rum being freaked by goats and cattle! Fling wasn't bothered! Rum was 2nd and Fling 1st. We were really surprised and delighted when Fling was pulled in reserve champion to Julie Voules's lovely Marigold of Meggernie. Shame there was no photographer to capture the moment!

We had young ponies at both Drymen and Gargunnock Shows to give them ring experience. Alexander and Eilidh had worked hard to teach them how to run out and their hard work paid off. We took 2 year old Rosebud and yearling Highland Fling to Drymen and both loaded easily and behaved well, which was the object of the exercise, so their third and second places respectively were a bonus. Rum was also there and was 3rd. For Gargunnock, we took two year old Teal (it was her first show) and yearlings, Fling and Marilla (her first show as well). Teal and Fling were both second and Marilla was first. Again, they all behaved very well. Cally (Royal Caledonian) was here for Gargunnock Show with his handler/rider, Chris Grant. Cally excelled himself by being Highland Pony In Hand and Ridden Champion, Supreme In Hand and Reserve Supreme Ridden! What a great day - marginally marred by the occasional thunder claps and rain! (photos left to right: Cally and Chris, Alexander and Fling, Alexander and Teal x 2, Chris and Marilla, Chris and Cally) Thank you very much for the photos, Helen Hyland!
