Description
Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club. A true Scottish Links Golf Course established in 1888 and re-designed by James Braid (Five-Times Open Champion) Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club is a true Scottish Links Golf Course based in the North of Scotland and only 20 minutes away from the city of Inverness and only 25 minutes from Castle Stuart Golf Club. The Club was established in 1888 and laterly the course was re-designed by the Five Times Open Champion James Braid.
With fast, deceptive greens and tight fairways this is a must on your golfing calendar and will prove a test to all levels of golfers. The course itself is surrounded on three sides by the sea in what is a very unique golf course. The Club also hosted two National tournaments in 2010 and is becoming more and more popular with visitors coming to the area.

HEAD GREENKEEPER POSITION AT FORTROSE & ROSEMARKIE GOLF LINKS - THE HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND APPLICATIONS CLOSE ON MONDAY, 10TH APRIL 2017 As the 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World (1793), Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links is proud of its heritage and the re-designed James Braid golf course 12 miles from Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. The successful candidate will report directly to the greens convener/committee and have a vision to realise it's natural potential. The club are seeking an exceptional individual who is looking for a demanding yet rewarding role, within a progressive environment. The club will actively support such an individual with continued professional development and a competitive salary. The head greenkeeper will be responsible for the maintenance of the golf course and clubhouse grounds and to supervise the maintenance and servicing of all golf course equipment and golf carts in compliance with maintenance standards whilst ensuring that appropriate service records are maintained. •Organise, implement and participate in a comprehensive program of maintenance work, including greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, rough and all other areas of the golf course to ensure that the links course is being maintained and presented to the agreed segmentation standards. •Maintain the security of the golf course and maintenance compound and to ensure that all internal areas are maintained to a satisfactory standard. •Make all necessary purchases of supplies and materials from approved vendors within budgetary limitations and to maintain appropriate records. •Produce an annual budget in order to achieve the agreed standards and being representative of the proposed maintenance plan. •Follow the Maintenance plan, any subsequent reports and adhere to the agreed budget. •Maintain a close business partnership with the Greens Convenor/Club Secretary. Train, motivate and effectively direct all members of staff, as well as following appropriate procedures on hiring, disciplining and terminating any employee contracts. •Conduct and chair Health & Safety meetings with all maintenance staff on a quarterly basis. The candidate should also be competent in the construction experience incl. Greens/ Tees/Bunkers & should also have a level of grow-in knowledge The successful applicant will be expected to stamp their own mark on the role and will be able to demonstrate experience of: Short and long-term maintenance and renovation planning along with the Implementation of operational procedures and accurate record keeping including greens performance and labour allocation An ability to communicate confidently at all levels In addition to the above specialist requirements, strong candidates should also have core skills including: •Hands on attitude to the job along with computer literacy •Knowledge and relevant qualifications in all matters needed in the successful operation of a Greenkeeping team The successful candidate will be an individual driven to maximise Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club's reputation and potential, and in turn seeking to enhance their own career.
