🔢 NUMBER COLLECTION 🔢 Numbers for the Southport Seaside 10K are available now for advance collection from our stores in Wilmslow and Hyde! To reduce unnecessary postage and waste, numbers are NOT being sent/posted out this year. They can be collected in advance from our stores until noon the day before the race, or on race day from 7:40am at Race HQ. Full details below 👇🏼 A D V A N C E C O L L E C T I O N You can collect your numbers at either of our stores in Hyde or Wilmslow, with free on site parking at both stores. You can pick numbers up for friends and club mates, just bring their info (name and DOB). Advance collection is available until noon the day before the race. After this time they will be packed away ready for the event. F O O D B A N K D O N A T I O N S🥫 Bring a tin of food on race day at the Southport Seaside 10k (Sunday 22nd September) and help a person in need! Foodbank provide emergency food to people in crisis, Southport Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together since May 2013 to stop hunger in the local area. Foodbank rely on the support of the community for food donations, at Run North West we would like to make a difference to this cause. If every runner brought a tin of food with them on race day for Southport Foodbank, that would be over 1,000 tins/packet of food for people in need. There will be a Southport Foodbank donation point at Race HQ 🚩 so runners can drop their donations off when they arrive on the day. Southport Foodbank are currently in need of: 🔸 long life fruit juice 🔹 tea 🔸 coffee 🔹 long life milk 🔸 tinned pudding 🔹 tinned cold meat 🔸 tinned fish 🔹 Donations of toiletries are also welcome including soap, shampoo, toothpaste and nappies. Tonight we had our first running club(s) come to the new Wilmslow store for a post training session social. Thank you Wilmslow Striders and Styal Running Club for letting us join your session 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️🌳 and then coming back to the store for post race refreshments 🍕🥤🍻. What a lovely evening, so nice to meet everyone and see some familiar faces 🤗.

How do you know if you have the right running shoe?

👟 How do you know what the right running shoes are? 👟 It is quite common for people to take a trip to our stores for our free gait analysis and help to find the perfect pair of trainers. Even if they have been running for years, or are just starting out. It can be a difficult or painful process if you don’t know what to look for. Painful for the feet and bank balance - that old phrase of “pay cheap, pay twice” might catch you out. A gait analysis is to look at the unique style in which you run, and determine what type of shoes you need (neutral or support). This is one of the things the team will do as part of the consultation to see what shoes would be best for you and your training and/or race goals.
