Snack Snack event on today - 11am at Coneygear Park 🙂

Just to let everyone know that we will not be holding the Coneygear Park Gala this year. We appreciate that it is a popular event but due to the work involved with the Coneygear Centre, we don’t have the resources available to organise it this year. Please be assured that next years event will be bigger and better. When we have the official opening of the Coneygear Centre (date to be confirmed) all residents will be welcome to attend.

A huge thank you to these lovely ladies (and the people that didn’t want to be in the pic!) for all of their hard work today. Each and everyone of you have been amazing and without you, we couldn’t have delivered what we did ! For those of you that don’t know, today we hosted the first of our Coneygear Seniors club. This club will take place every Wednesday from 9am to 1pm at the Medway Centre. Lots of activities to take part in along with refreshments and a 2 course cooked meal - all free ! Once we move to Coneygear Park, there will be a £2 fee to cover the cost of food. If you know of anyone over the age of 65 that would benefit from this, please ask them to phone the centre on 01480 388677. We had 35 people in attendance today and can accommodate up to 100 people weekly 🙂

The Snack Shack team would like to invite you along to their ladies Afternoon Tea this Wednesday (22nd May) 12.30 ~ 2.30pm at the Medway. Tickets are £5 on the door and include: Tea, Coffee, Scones, A small gift, Nails done, Music and good company. There will also be a raffle £1 a strip. All proceeds will go towards new equipment for the cafe opening at The New Coneygear Centre **ONLY 10 SPACES REMAINING PLEASE COMMENT BELOW FOR A SPACE, REMAINING TICKETS WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED**

We want your books! The new Coneygear Centre will feature a community library. We are now looking for donations of good quality books of all different genres. There will also be opportunities to volunteer for the community library. See below for more info.

The Friends of Coneygear Park Committee will be holding their AGM on Monday 24th September at 18:00 at the Medway Centre. If you would like to attend or become part of the committee, you are more than welcome.

We had a great day at the gala and hope you did too ! Special thank you to Esme Richardson, Jennie Jones and Sally who worked tirelessly in the Snack Shack trying to tackle the queues ! Bouncy castles were brilliant as was the face painting ! Fantastic demos by Debs Zumba and Generations Dance Academy. A huge thank you also to the amazing Medway Christian Fellowship, Andrew and Julie from the petting zoo, Ray and Sean from HCR, Alyce from Huntingdonshire District Council, Paddy and his team for the security/first aid, Andy from HTC and Clare and Tracey from Cambridgeshire County Council. What a great team effort 🙂
