Free Bachata Party with Brighton Bachateros Wednesday, 1st March 2017 | 9pm - 1am Free entry & no need to bring a partner 🍸 All abilities welcome 💃 There will be no lessons offered on this occasion, but anyone is very welcome to pop downstairs to check it out and maybe you'll want to learn on one of Brighton Bachateros's lessons in the future. What is Bachata? Originally bachata came from Dominican Republic, this style is with lots of footwork with small quick steps and there is more distance between partners. This partner dance has spread in many countries but it has become very popular when it turned into more sensual style which was developed in Spain over the last decade. This style has simpler footwork and there are elements from other dances such as salsa, tango and zouk and lots of body waves. Also, lots of attention is paid to lady styling for example artistic arms, beautiful dips and emphasizing certain moves. Feminine part is important here, lady is beautiful and elegant in this dance. Partners are closer to each other (but not too close to feel uncomfortable). We teach this type of bachata - sensual type, sometimes it is also called bachata moderna, It has become very popular since coming from Spain to the UK, especially in London.
