Innovators Race - Episode 1 - Introducing the final 6 teams

Update on HBS students in UH team representing UK in Global business competition The organisers have now released the first episode of a series for this month that introduces all the teams. It does start with a USA team that are also from UH but University of Houston!! They are also MBA students up against our own undergraduates, Fiona Huynh and Trevor Yu . Innovators Race by Capgemini: The Race Is on!

Its great to see that Fiona Huynh an Accounting student here at UH plus Trevor Yu a fellow UH student whilst on placement together entered a business competition sponsored by Barclays and Capgemni and have won the UK final against stiff competition. They have now progressed to the global final and will need our help since there is a public vote. Basically ‘The Innovators race’ competition, produce online material regarding each competitor. The first episode is scheduled to launch 15th February followed by the next 4 episodes every week thereafter. The first one will feature all 6 global student team introduction and the series introduction. The next 3 episodes will feature the journey of the teams engaging with Capgemini & the client brand – NL & India in ep 2, France & NA in ep 3, UK & Brazil in ep 4. All the 6 teams’ solutions will be featured in ep 5 thereafter. Then we will have around 8 days of online voting, where the online public will vote on innovatorsrace.com for the solution they’d like to see implemented. The 2 teams with maximum votes will compete in the finale in Paris, a few weeks later. The jury will then select the winning team in the finale episode which will be broadcast in April. If you are considering joining one of our Finance degrees in 2016 then perhaps this bursary from the Bank of England maybe of interest if you meet the criteria. The Bank of England Black/African-Caribbean scholarship programme is open for applications until 21st February. The scholarship offers financial support to students from Black or Mixed African or Caribbean backgrounds that will be starting their undergraduate degree courses at UK universities in the autumn of 2016. You could receive up to £30,000 of funding over the course of your undergraduate degree, two paid summer internships at the Bank as well as other skills training and support.
