Feathers Cafe
Description
A warm and friendly café in the heart of the community that welcomes everyone from local industry workforce to clubs and societies or families. Feathers Café will open its doors on Tuesday 6 May 2014. Local business man Grant Wylde is setting up Feathers Café in memory of his late wife Michelle Wylde, whom was lovingly known as Feathers (aka Bigfoot) and lost her battle to cancer only a year ago. Grant said; “Michelle was a strong, vibrant people's person who had bravely fought this horrid disease. Despite fighting her own battle with the illness, she always gave strength, support and belief to others in need, including a good friend of hers called Billy May, who also sadly passed away from the disease a few years previous to Michelle. With this in my heart and mind and the support from close friends and family, I decided to open a café with a difference – somewhere where people of all ages including families could come for some wholesome food at reasonable prices.”
The café will be open Week days 6.00am – 3.30pm, Saturdays 6.00am – 2.30pm and be closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays. The menu offers cooked breakfast, sandwiches and baguettes, Panini’s, jacket potatoes, desserts and drinks. All food is cooked on the premises and when you enter Feathers you will be say ‘wow’ as Grant has made sure that the furnishings and décor are more boutique restaurant than café in what he calls his very own ‘boutique café’.
Feathers Café will also offer 10% discount to Members of the Emergency Services and Taxi Drivers and there are plans to hold fund raising events for Cancer Research and Macmillan in memory of Michelle.
