Trap Bar deadlifts were a new exercise added into the bootcamp this morning. These are excellent for working your lower body, core and even parts of the upper body too! Below is an illustration of the technique and a few key points to bear in mind are as follows: - Set your feet about shoulder width or slightly wider. - Get a firm grip on the bar making sure you are aligned to the centre of it. - Chest up, eyes neutral. - Take a deep breath and get the core nice and tight. - Back flat, arms straight (think of them like hooks). - Drive with your legs and stand tall. - Keep the back flat throughout the movement. - Reverse the movement back down to the floor. What gets you results? There are a number of different approaches that work when it comes to nutrition. You may have heard of some of them: - Intermittent fasting - IIFYM - Paleo - Zone diet - Lean in 15 There’s many more where they came from. However, the key is always finding the approach that suits you best in terms of your lifestyle and crucially what you will stick to. Adherence and consistency are the paramount above all else. This is highlighted perfectly in the diagram below by Renaissance Periodization.
