Deaconsbank Community
Description
Welcome to Deaconsbank Community page. Here you will find local information & opportunities to meet others in the area via events & the Residents Committee. This page is run by the Deaconsbank Residents Association and is used to post positive, useful information for the residents of Deaconsbank and our visitors. It is a place to boost community spirit, make local connections and share useful local knowledge.
Every home owner in Deaconsbank is automatically a member of the Resident's Association and would be very welcome to contribute further by becoming a member of the elected committee. Tenants of rented accommodation are also welcome to get involved.
Details of the Annual General Meeting (when the committee is elected) will be posted on Facebook, Twitter and via the hand delivered newsletter as it approaches each year.
We also hope to organise events and encourage anyone interesting in getting involved in the Committee and its activities to email deaconsbanksecretary@gmail.com!
This page is not a place for complaints, so please also use the above email address if you have any concerns about your local area that you wish us to investigate or advise upon.
There is zero tolerance of any abuse of any nature on this page. Perpetrators will be reported via the appropriate channels.

facebook.com***Important*** Sorry to have to share this distressing post but it was brought to my attention by a friend and I felt it was crucial to share far and wide. Please note the post is not mine but was posted by a parent on Facebook on 21 Sept 2017. "I wasn't going to share this on social media however the police have spoken to me again tonight and advised I make people aware as there has been another incident and they need to find this guy quickly. On Saturday afternoon the boys and I did the river walk at Rouken Glen Park. We were followed by a guy who would walk behind us, then disappear into the bushes on the golf course side. I managed to get us into a clearing so we were more visible. At this point he came into the middle of the path and stood about eight meters away staring at us, then his phone, then back to us. I turned towards him and pretended to make a call. I knew I couldn't turn my back on him. He just kept staring. For about 2/3 minutes I honestly thought we might be attacked. I was trying not to anger him as I felt the situation could quickly escalate. My instinct said it was the boys he was interested in. Another family came along and he ran off into the bushes. I called 101 and they immediately put it through to the police. Please please be vigilant and report anything suspicious to the police immediately. Description... The guy was wearing a light grey hoodie, he had it pulled over his head. Jogging type shorts down to his knees. He was in his early 30s and white."
Rather concerned to say that a local resident found a school bag, blazer and white shirt dumped in bushes on the estate on Friday. School is St Ninian's. Please PM if you think these might belong to your child.
This page is for local information useful to the community of Deaconsbank; Inverewe, Loganswell, Invergarry and our neighbours in Jenny Lind. The administrator of this page is not on the Deaconsbank Residents Association committee so please send any enquiries for the committee directly to the secretary on deaconsbanksecretary@gmail.com. Many thanks.
Hi everyone. **SOCIAL GROUPS** Last year we had a couple of coffee evenings at Sainsbury's cafe - purely sociable occasions to meet neighbours and talk about the possibility of starting some new groups in Deaconsbank to increase community spirit and combat loneliness. There was interest in DeacieBats (Deacie Babies and Toddlers), also a Gardening Group and a Walking Group. Since then, we have struggled to find volunteers to take a lead on some of these areas and so this is a shout out to see if anyone is up for biting the bullet and getting something off the ground. For starters, even just someone who might come up with a walking route, meet everyone at a certain time at the Postbox at Loganswell Place and go for that as a first step... literally! I will plug away at creating seasonal events, such as the Mrs Clause singsong again. And if you are interested in Deaciebats, please drop a line to deaciebats@gmail.com. Comment here and/or PM and I will then post up any plans. Thanks all. 🤩⚽🏏🌿🌷🐾🐕🐩👟🚴♂️🚴♀️

Very sad news. A ginger cat was found earlier this evening which had clearly been hit by a car and died on the corner of Loganswell Road and Loganswell Drive. The resident who found it took it to Rouken Glen Vets where it was checked for a microchip but it was not found to have one. If you think you might know who the wee soul belonged to, perhaps let them know. 😢
