Rosemarkie Beach Cafe
Description
Open Sat/Sun through the winter plus - soup, hot drinks and snacks, home baking, until back to 7 days Mar - Nov. Local friendly staff and free exhibition! We manage the café on behalf of Rosemarkie Amenities Association, by and for our community - and visitors too of course! We're open every day (including Sunday) from 27 March to end October, then weekends only in November & December, plus January 1st. Hours usually 10.30 until 3.30, a fair bit longer when fine. We only close in January and February. We are within easy reach of Chanonry Point.
Our modernised cafe is fully wheelchair accessible. We have free toilets, including toilets for disabled users, and even a shower for rinsing the sand off your toes.
On chillier days we have indoor seating and we have a great little interpretive exhibition which includes info on local features such as our 400 million year old coastline and our bottlenose dolphins. Our 2014 temporary exhibition is all about the Fairy Glen, a lovely sheltered woodland walk nearby.
We have one of the best views in the Highlands, straight out across our clean, sandy beach, to the sea.

facebook.comSorry if you had a slight wait for your coffee this morning. Cafe manager left keys in different pocket at home! Stonking day for a beach walk for photography (that low golden light with long shadows) or a touch of dolphin spotting (yes they are still about) - or just a leisurely lunch. Try one of our hot chocolate sundaes - very naughty but very very nice. Open 11 - 3 or thereabouts today and tomorrow and every weekend through to the daily openings through most of the school winter holidays. So much closes in winter hereabouts but we try not to so folk have somewhere to come and eat during the brief hours of winter daylight!

If anyone spots a stray collie answering to Misty please let Munlochy Animal Aid know.
Remember the beach cafe is still open daily but is closed all day on Saturday 4th for bonfire preparations. We will then be open all day on Sunday 5th and then go to our winter schedule - weekends only until school Xmas hols! On bonfire night follow this safety plan for driving in, be patient with our RAA volunteers who are there to keep you safe and set out early. Please buy sparkly and lighty uppy things from RAA rather than the opportunists - this whole event is a fundraiser for RAA. Forecast is good, whoo-hoo!
We (Philip and Verity) are so grateful to assistant manager Julie, the cafe youngsters and the amazing Rosemarkie Amenities team for ensuring the popular pumpkin parade went ahead this year - family illness, a bereavement and a holiday meant we really couldn't do it ourselves as we only got back yesterday. And what a brilliant array of pumpkins you brought along this year - 95 of them! Well done to everyone who took part and those who won their section will get their cafe vouchers soon. Bravo to all involved! There are a very few pumpkins left unclaimed at the cafe. Please pick them up before 5pm tomorrow or they will be composted. Many thanks again and well done all!
