Nice paragraph at the end of an email from a client today, after I took their little Jack Russell for a scan last week, thanks to St Clair Vet Group for helping me and Tess out. Her owner wrote; "Can I also take this opportunity to thank you for looking after our little lady. It's obviously not good news but we're glad we have you to look after her."
Pugs and pigmentary keratitis go together like..... Well they generally don't seem to get through life these guys without pigment ingress, usually at the lower medial quadrant of the cornea and in response to the clear trichiasis caused by entropion here. This wee guy got his much needed medial canthoplasty yesterday, the cornea is actually also still recovering from surgical repair of a central stromal ulcer with an Omnigen graft. 6 weeks post surgery and the cornea looks lovely apart from the pigment which was there before the ulcer.
When is a mass not a mass? When it's a cyst... nicely transilluminating in the second photo. Incidental finding but may need monitoring as it is partially obscuring the pupil.
