CHRISTMAS CAKE WORKSHOP. Only 7 spaces available. This adult workshop will run over 3 weeks with each session lasting approximately 2 hours. Whether you are a complete beginner or a hobby baker this could be for you. We will be using skills which will involve the art of royal icing to create borders & enable you to write straight on to your cake. These skills can then be carried on to future cakes you might make. You will gain a basic knowledge of royal icing & be provided with a recipe & knowledge of the do's & dont's of royal icing, their different consistencies & what you use them for. Workshop 1: learn to marzipan & cover your cake using roll out icing. Different methods of covering your cake drum will be explained You will then start your chosen decoration of snowman or Santa face. Workshop 2: Royal Icing demonstration & practice session learning shell & scroll work & over piping with colour.Practice piping straight lines & moving on to writing. Workshop 3: we will be completing our cakes & finishing our drum with ribbon. You will leave with your decorated Christmas cake which can take centre stage on your Christmas table or you might want to gift it to someone special. Everything you need to complete this workshop will be provided & includes- 1x6" Christmas cake Marzipan for covering your cake. Roll out icing for covering your cake. Cake box & cake drum. Royal icing for piping Nozzles you'll need are no44 scroll No 3 writing & no 2 writing, these will also be provided. This workshop is approximately 6 hours in total & sessions will run on Tues 28th Nov 4.30-6.30pm Tues 5th Dec 4.30-6.30pm Tues 12th Dec 4.30-6.30pm Total cost will be £60, 50% deposit due on booking with the balance due at the1st session.
