So February is drawing to an end and all those newbies that started in January are almost gone 🤣🤣🙌🙌 Which means.... all the oldies that were complaining at xmas can say 'I told you so!!' Brilliant news!! those assholes are gone who were holding up YOUR machines, they knew nothing anyway and they were clearly lazy. Heads full of nonsense, thinking they were going to be ripped and fit by May 😂😂😂 When I started the gym I knew everything, I was able to do every exercise, knew everything about gym etiquette, and was the most confident out-going and happy guy in the gym. Was I fuck! I was like every single other person that starts the gym, knew nothing, was shit scared, didn't lift my head up once and had the strength of a new born kitten. Give people a chance. If you see someone new maybe introduce yourself. Offer them a hand. Helping someome out and imparting knowledge actually makes you feel pretty fucking good. There is more chance of them making it if they feel comfortable in the gym. Remember you were a newbie once.

You hire a coach/PT it's because you are unhappy about the way you look. That's why I started training 18 years ago, and in that time I've never been completely happy with how my body looks. I'll train for another 18 years and I still won't be happy with it. It's the 'not being happy' that keeps me training, and the fact that the chase of it actually keeps me happy. If you have hired a coach with the thought that one day you will be happy with your body.....you might be.......but only for a short time. You will eventually find something that you are unhappy with, it's just the way we are. Start enjoying the journey. Start learning to actually accept how you look and realise, you looking different probably won't make you any happier. There are supermodels who suffer from depression. There are cover models that hate their bodies. A set of abs, huge glutes or recognition from some fella you like in the office will not make you happy in the long run. Worry more about the health, energy, fitness and strength benefits you get from training.
That time where you heard someone say something bad about you, so you decide to use all your efforts to prove them wrong. Little do you know that immediately after they spoke those words, thoughts of you went right out of their mind. Yet you have spend days and hours thinking about them and what they said. Hardly seems worth it. Don't let some fucking oxygen thiefs words shape your future or dictate how you feel. They don't actually care about you, and even if you did prove them wrong, they will find something else to slag you off about. Happy Wednesday 😁
Is a ‘Cheat Meal’ really just a green light for binge eating? Has the reward system set up by a lot of personal trainers for their clients for them eating healthy and following guidelines, turned into a Man vs Food scenario? Can we switch off once we get the taste for that food we have avoided so well all week? This could certainly be an argument towards implementing flexible dieting. I mean if we had a little of the food all week would we want to binge on it then on a Saturday? I think it would definitely help, instead of approaching a cheat meal like it's the last supper. The more I know I can’t have something, the more I fucking want it! Refeeds to me are essential, I don’t want my clients to be in a deficit all week (well I would if I could get away with it) they need a day to switch off. We also try to incorporate a little amount of junk food into everyday eating. We go for a more structure ‘relaxedeating day' approach, where we give out lists of foods and the clients can choose what ever they want and in whatever amounts they want. Clearly they can still manage to eat their body weight in food that day but we try to pick whole food options that are mainly nutrient dense, and well…. less calorie dense.
