Allestree Woodlands School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located on Blenheim Drive in Allestree, Derby in the East Midlands of England.AdmissionsThe school is for pupils aged 11–18. About 220 students enrol at the school in any one academic year, with about 1335 in total.HistoryThe school was opened as Woodlands Secondary Modern School in 1956. It became a comprehensive in 1975, and was awarded specialist status as a Technology College in September 2004. The school converted to academy status in 2012. The school has just finished going through a 90% rebuilding project. However, there has been critisicm of this new build due to a lack of eating area for people bringing a packed lunch.Notable alumni Bob Laxton - former local MP for Derby North.
