Word Wise #16 will take place at the Maypole Cafe, Bar & Theatre, on Friday 30th March 2018 Word Wise is the concept of poet and performer Jamie Thrasivoulou Poet who will compere and run the evenings. Word Wise is a spoken word and poetry night uniting the best talent from around the UK and beyond, with Derby's finest performers. March sees Carol Robson + Peter Raynard Carol started performing at Spoken Word events in 2010, she also gradually started dabbling with comedy as well, which she now includes as part of her Spoken Word/Comedy show, which she was delighted to be able to perform at the 2015 UK Women in Comedy Festival. Carol has also performed in venues, Festivals/Fringe events from Brighton to Edinburgh such as Ilkley, Buxton, Manchester, York and Edinburgh. Carol received a 4 star Broadway Baby review for her 2014 Edinburgh Fringe show. In 2016 Carol performed her new show ‘Just Saying How It Is’ at the Great Yorkshire Fringe in York and Camden Fringe. October 2015 was a highlight for Carol when she was part of a performance around intergenerational words called ‘The Open Sky’ which was performed in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Carol is looking forward to performing at the Cheltenham Poetry Festival in April 2018.
