Nutrition is one of the most important aspects of whatever your goals are, whether it's building muscle, losing weight or to improve athletic performance. Every Friday In January I'm going to be telling you what foods you should be eating pre and post workout. This week I'm going to be telling you about what you should be eating pre workout. Carbs - If you like to have your workouts short and intense such as weight training, circuit training and interval training then carbs are a must before a workout because they are your main source of fuel for this type of activity. If you're workout is in 2-3 hours or more then you should be eating slow digesting carbs such as potato, bread and rice. But if you're workout is in an hour or just under then fast digesting carbs are the best option, fruit is perfect for this as it has the natural sugars that you need and these will restore glycogen levels in your blood very quickly. Protein - protein is also a must before a workout because it increases protein synthesis and also studies have shown that it kick starts that muscle recovery and building process sooner than eating protein post workout. Fats - fats are a great source of food if your workout will be a much longer workout for a moderate to low intensity.

Firstly Happy New Year to Everyone From Myself and The Team At Darlington! We hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year. Now it is 2018 we are ready to help you with those fitness goals. Let 2018 be the year for you, don't wait and let those excuses be a thing of the past. The elves in the Club have been busy during December and we are excited to launch our new January Group Fitness Timetable. Members can book classes and Small Group PT Courses with Darren using their gym sync app. We are excited to introduce our new Instructor Martyna to everyone, we have lots of new classes including Legs, Bums and Tums in the evening, Fit Ball, HIIT, Hatha Yoga and Hot Yoga. Personal Trainers Craig and Carl have been resting over Christmas ready to help everyone. Why not catch them in the gym or contact them on Facebook. Members have been training with them both throughout 2017 and the results speak for themselves. Members can now enjoy 20% discounts with Gladiator Nutrition in Darlington, just pop in the shop and take your access card. The staff are looking forward to helping everyone, need some advice this is the place to go. New Classes - Hatha Yoga & Hot Yoga Starting in January why not come and join our fantastic instructor Emma on a Thursday evening. Starting with Hatha Yoga at 5.30pm, which is the more traditional style yoga. And is good for anyone looking to get into more of a Yoga workout. Followed by Hot Yoga at 6.30pm, which is pushing the more standard yoga movements and utilising a hot room to further stretch and work the body, for that next level workout. Members book your class via your app. So why not book your space and try this class and all others available to members. All classes are included in the membership.

New Instructor - New Class We would like to give a warm Snap Fitness welcome to our new instructor Martyna. Martyna has been involved in the fitness industry for over 8 years, and will be joining us from January 2018.
