Cullercoats Infant and Junior School
Description
This is Cullercoats Junior School, or John Street Junior School, John Street, Cullercoats, and Cullercoats Infants School, Mast Lane https://www.facebook.com/groups/CullercoatsInfantsJuniorSchools/?fref=ts
Pls go into the above link for our private group!
I have searched and was unable to find a page for my old infant and junior schools, so I have created one!
I hope that it can reach as many ex students as possible and that they post memories, photos etc. Please 'tag' the photos, if you don't know how, let me know and I will do it for you!
If you know of anyone else on Facebook who used to attend, please ask them to join, THANKS!
And by the way, there was no page for my secondary school, Tynemouth Grammar Technical School, (also known as Preston High School and John Spence Community High School) as well, so I have created one, just search for
Tynemouth Grammar Technical School

Rocket Garage - Lovely to see this photo. I lived over the road from Billy Reeds fruit shop, my mother had the pet shop which later became a betting shop. We lived in the flat above. Wedderburns used to bake all their amazing bread cakes etc at the back of the shop, delisious!!!!!! (Shared from Pauline Smeaton)
Who remembers the Marden Avenue, Links Road 'death-march' from school and back for the obligatory soccer matches & sports days ? Many's the time after the match i'd knock on a perfect strangers door and ask for a drink of water (and it was always gladly given) Shared from Chris Hull

Do you know, I cannot remember, but I never recall a drinking fountain in Cullercoats School (Infant or Junior)? Did we just not drink water outside of home in those days? We certainly did not walk around with plastic bottles of water. I used to drink straight out of the short rubber hose/attachment me Mam had attached to the cold water tap. Probably only in the summer when it got warm! Think of the germs you could catch from a water fountain today!

Who remembers the name of the shop that used to sell sweets and great games like this, on the way down to Rocket Garage? I used to buy my elastic bands there to play French Skipping and Jacks & Clackers etc!
