Please take a few minutes to sign this and create a new law, which will hopefully help, to not only protect the lives of our staff, but the thousands of recovery operators working around the country, who risk their lives daily, to rescue stranded motorists. Today we have seen another tragic accident on the M69 with an operator struck on the hardshoulder, whilst carrying out his job. Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to the operatives family. If you see a recovery operator working on the hardshoulder please SLOW DOWN and MOVE OVER

A difficult and challenging recovery from today, assisting BV Commercials on the M6 Junc 1-2, overturned foreign artic, full of beer, left the carriageway tipped over onto its nearside and then slid underneath the bridge. With bridge inspectors on site, watching everymove, the unit was split from the trailer winched forward, past the front of the bridge, uprighted, then craned onto the lowloader, as both rear axles had been ripped off. Once the grab trucks had removed most of the load, BVs Foden was driven up the embankment at the rear of the trailer to winch it back, then using our rotator to lift the front of the trailer and push it away from the bridge it was winched backwards until it was clear of the bridge and could be uprighted
