Just discovered it is Sibling Day across the pond: which has me thinking about a "family" themed song session for my wellbeing singing groups. I would LOVE to receive your suggestions for songs about family, or with particular family members in the title or lyrics! Any decade, any style...there are no wrong answers to this question 🤗🎶 Pictured below are the beautiful Sister Sledge.

No matter what anyone says, the recorder IS a beautiful instrument! 🎶 I love this clip of the all-female Woodpeckers Quartet. Which size recorder would you choose? 🤔

Thank you Heidi Plant for this 😊 What I love is the way this demonstrates that there is no single "correct" way to be a musician or to create wonderful music and feel good about it. Here we have the professional musician, the young beginner with her book, the self-taught using online videos, the play by ear non-music reader, the improvisationalist - all playing this instrument for the pure joy of it. No individual one of these is more or less valid as a musician #Justlovemusic #Accessiblemusic https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10155703340877217&id=228735667216

These are truly fantastic classes building your child's confidence through drama - always delivered with lots of brilliant humour and energy by the superb Seb Pope. Seb supports the children to work towards original end of term performances, building their skills through lots of fun games and activities. It's so wonderful to see the results of their hard work and see them grow in confidence & feel totally at home on the stage. Saturdays during term time; Exton Village Hall (off A376 nr. Exmouth). Follow the link and contact Seb at Square Egg for more details 😊

One month from today! We are playing under the baton of talented 20-something conductor Leo Geyer. Check out his biog at www.LeoGeyer.co.uk - he really has achieved an incredible amount for one so young 😊 🎶

Yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the death of Claude Debussy, composer of one of my favourite pieces, the incredibly relaxing and dreamy La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair). A piano composition but I was lucky enough to play an arrangement of the piece as part of Staffordshire's Youth Recorder ensemble in my teens in c.1994, a beautiful sound on all-wooden instruments, and busked it as a violin solo a year or two later 😊🎶

A big well done to two more super young people who worked incredibly hard and succeeded in passing their piano exams with fantastic results this term - a Grade 5 for Ari and a Grade 1 for Sienna. I couldn't be prouder!
