This was a very interesting job. 200 year old chimney restoration in Weldon. Using lime & cement mix to match the original brick work. There were some very big cracks dividing the chimney breast from the outer stone wall. & inside the fire place there was a ton of rubble where a cast iron open fire had been fitted about a hundred years ago, exposing a lovely big 3' wide 4' high & 2' deep inglenook. I laid a natural stone hearth & fitted a very nice cast iron wood burner, which looks perfect...
this is an old jotol with a back boiler in need of a home if you are interested... would make a good workshop heater for someone handy enough to spend a bit of time on it, or I can do it for you...
