St Ives' Church, Leadgate
Description
We are an inclusive Church in the Catholic Tradition and proclaim the good news of Jesus in Word and Sacraments.
Located in a prominent position at the highest point of St Ives Road in Leadgate. St Ives is known locally as 'The Miners' Cathedral' owing to its proximity to two pitheads. The last pit closed more than 30 years ago but the church carries on as a witness to the past and a beacon for the future.
