Some of the academies heroes enjoying the fruits of their labour, taking part in the Final Hands Down Interclub of the year and contributing to the club bringing home the trophy for winning the overall tournament. Star fighter for Cobham was Ryan Hibbins and the star fighter for Epsom was Jayden Eddy both fighting in two disciplines (light continuous and points fighting) and achieving podium finishes.

Hands Down would like to say a huge well done to Callum Gordon for his recent competition success. Callum won 1st place in both his categories at Unity World Games and then went on to win 3rd place at Infinity a week later. Callum is one of our long standing Elite students and having shown us his ability as an all round martial artist, already achieving his black belt by the age of 12 he found his passion for forms and continues to grow and improve with every class. Even at his young age his work ethic, level of respect, discipline, determination, humility and integrity is an aspiration to many at the club and these characteristics are what will lead him to success not just within Martial Arts but with many aspects of life. To quote his Instructors Mr Elwood and Miss Mitchell “He is a pleasure to teach because of his attention to detail and dedicated work ethic. His recent performances were a true testament to how he conducts himself in training. The epitome of what Forms should be: intense, creative and executed with a real care for technique.” “Callum is an inspiration to me as a team mate. Parents, Officials and family members were astounded by the way in which he presents himself even in defeat.”
