Michael has been installing flue systems and wood burning stoves since 2003.  Clearview Chimneys offer expert advice and guidance from the initial quotation visit through to the finished installation.

Michael is a HETAS registered engineer.  HETAS engineers are trained and continually assessed to carry out compliant work.  Such engineers supply a Certificate of Compliance for their work which demonstrates the installation has been carried out to the relevant Building Regulations and is needed when selling your property and for example to validate your household insurance.

Burning dry logs on your wood burning stove will reduce maintenance and fuel costs. Burning wet wood makes it harder for chimney sweeps to keep systems in a safe and effective condition. Logs should have a moisture content of 20% or below.

We recently fitted this Clearview Vision on a 300 log stand in Golden Fire Brown. The small pipe at the back of the fire place connects to the external air vent on the rear of the stove.

Now is a good time to get your wood burner serviced. Here Michael is servicing a Clearview Vision. He is replacing the door rope and checking the door hinges to ensure a good seal, this means the stove won't suck in extra air and burn too quickly.

Never store logs next to your woodburner. The recess next to the wood burner traps the heat and the logs can combust, sometimes without showing any signs of smouldering. As a retained fire fighter and HETAS engineer I have seen the damaging effects of ignoring this advice.
