Hello my name is Julie and I am the franchisee for Barking Mad for the Tendering and Colchester area. My husband and I moved to Clacton on Sea about 5 years ago, with our two old Golden Retrievers Benn and Josh. Benn was a champagne colour and did not like to get dirty, he would walk around mud and puddles on a walk, Josh was the complete opposite and we nicknamed him pigpen as he would go out of his way to jump in the mud and puddles and has even been known to roll in the mud!
Unfortunately, our old Benn sadly passed away leaving us and our Josh broken hearted. It was at this point I contacted Barking Mad to find out about becoming a host to give Josh some company without the commitment of having another dog full time. We loved hosting and it gave Josh a new lease of life. We also used Barking Mad for Josh when we went on holiday and were so happy with the amazing service we received.
We then met Lilly a little black lab and she has now become a part of our family, who slotted in perfectly with our involvement with Barking Mad. Sadly, we lost or Josh to old age and just when we said we would not get any more dogs! Famous last words! Rennie a red Retriever appeared in our lives and we could not say no.
We had now been a customer and host for Barking Mad for just over 4 years and loved the concept of how and why it works for dog lovers. When the opportunity arose to join this wonderful business, I thought we would be Barking Mad not to.
It can be a difficult decision deciding what to do with your dogs when you are away from home, we really understand this, please give us a call so we can explain how we work and help to put your mind at ease. We often arrange little sleep overs so that you can be assured that he or she is settling in with their host family.
