Chosen Hill School is a happy school, where students, staff and parents work closely in partnership. There is an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
Chosen Hill School opened in 1959 and became an Academy Trust in 2011. There are close to 1400 students in the school including a popular and expanding Sixth Form. As an International Award School we welcome students from many parts of the world on study visits and exchange programmes. Our links with SAI International in India, College Victor Duruy in France and Suzhou Foreign Language School in China are particularly strong and we actively encourage international partnerships to support learning and global citizenship.

"Students now achieve very well and GCSE results in a range of subjects, including English and Mathematics, are above average. Attainment overall at the end of Key Stage 4 is above average. This represents good progress from students' starting points." Ofsted April 2015

We truly believe that instilling confidence in our students and giving them the opportunity to take responsibility and stretching their talents will enable them to become successful adults.

The School is closed to all students on Monday 19th March, 2018 Unfortunately due to the severe weather conditions overnight, the school site is not safe. To ensure the safety of students and staff, I have taken the decision to CLOSE THE SCHOOL ON MONDAY 19th MARCH 2018. The decision to close the school is never taken lightly and the key consideration is the safety of our students and staff. The decision takes into account a range of factors including: ➡️ local travel conditions; ➡️ travel conditions further afield which may affect the ability of staff to get to school which in turn impacts on the level of supervision that we can provide; ➡️ the safety of the school site itself. Parents and students should ASSUME THE SCHOOL IS OPEN ON TUESDAY 20th MARCH, 2018 unless there is a message on the school’s website stating the school is closed. ➡️ Via message on the school website ➡️ By notification on the GCC school closure site( www.glosclosedschools.com) ➡️ On the school’s Facebook and Twitter accounts(www.facebook.com/chosenhillschool) ➡️ Via In-Touch message to parents Could we ask parents not to call school directly to enquire about closure but use one of the mechanisms outlined above to confirm the school’s status. If there is significant pressure on the school website and it goes down, please make reference to one of the other communication channels. Mrs K Harrison Heateacher

❄️ WEATHER UPDATE: MONDAY 19TH MARCH 2018 At this time, we expect to OPEN the school to staff and students on Monday 19th March, 2018. Whilst there are freezing conditions forecast overnight, roads are currently clear and the site has been reviewed regarding safety preparations across the course of Sunday. The final decision to open, however, will be confirmed further to a site walk early Monday morning. The message regarding confirmation of the school opening or the need for closure will be communicated in four ways: ➡️ Via message on the school website ➡️ By notification on the GCC school closure site(www.glosclosedschools.com) ➡️ On the school’s Facebook and Twitter accounts(www.facebook.com/chosenhillschool) ➡️ Via In-Touch message to parents Could we ask parents not to call school directly to enquire about closure but use one of the mechanisms outlined above to confirm the school’s status.
