facebook.comTake a look at the new website for Miranda Shirnia School of Speech and Drama: https://mirandashirnia.com/ I am planning to upload all of the LAMDA set pieces and my recordings shortly. I'll let you all know as soon as it's done.
Today I have sent a recording of the Theory Required for LAMDA Speech Grade 3 to the parents of all the children taking this exam in a couple of weeks - please check your email. The children have this in paper form but I thought it might help them to listen to me talking them through it as well. Children taking this exam are: Kate H, Imogen B, Grace J, Lorelei, Syd, Anna, Freya, Rebekkah and Melissa.
SUGGESTION for all pupils Studying LAMDA Grades 3 and above... At Grade 3 and above the THEORY part of the exam becomes more challenging so making FLASHCARDS would be a great way to help them to learn this. When I had to memorise the theory for my exams I used this app and it worked well for me so I recommend it for all my pupils: http://www.cram.com/ ...and it will be useful for school exams too!
Here's the full list of Winners and those placed 2nd or 3rd at the Mid Somerset Festival Mid Somerset Festival this week. I just want to say that although it's fantastic to win or be placed it is also an amazing achievement to simply take part at a Festival. I doubt many of your parents would want to get up and perform in front of an audience like that so everyone who took part should be very proud of themselves. By the way, any more photos would be gratefully received and if I've missed anything or made a mistake just let me know.
On Friday evening I had a very proud mummy moment at the Highlights Concert for Mid Somerset Festival when my daughter Libby was presented with the new Classical Repertoire Trophy for the highest combined marks in Sonnet, Dickens Prose and Classical Drama. Then my son Julian was presented with the Gilbert Cup for the highest mark for a boy at the Festival and the Evelyn Sandford Repertoire Trophy for the highest combined marks in Acting, Memorised Prose, Mime and Verse. It is such a thrill to win these trophies especially as this is Julian and Libby’s last MSF. My children have now won the Evelyn Sandford Repertoire Trophy 8 times over the years. As I say, I am rather proud
Kate had an incredible week at Mid Somerset Festival. Here she is holding her trophy for winning the Y6 Acting class which had 40 other performers in it. She also came 2nd in Y6 Verse and 3rd in Years 5 & 6 Solo Mime. I think we'll have to enter you for the Evelyn Sandford Trophy next year Kate!
