Don't let the weights intimidate you. To progress you need to have belief in yourself that you can handle the bad ass weights! 💪🏼
Happy hump day everyone!! Here is a mini preview of my legs sesh in the gym tonight. (Not all exercises are included!) 1. Hack squat 2. Seated leg press 3. Lying hamstring curl 4. Standing calf raises 5. Seated calf raises All reps are between 8-12 with sets varying between 3-5 per exercise.
Day 1 of 22 push-ups a day for 22 days to raise awareness for serving personal and combat veterans suffering with PTSD. There are 22 vets a day that are committing suicide, and this is a small way to raise awareness for that issue. I was nominated by Nancy Katsaiti I now nominate Susanna Kerr to do 22 push ups a day for 22 days. (You have let me down with no pt session this week!) The rules are simple: * Once you are nominated your 22 days start the following day. * Every day you record yourself doing 22 push-ups. Try your best to reach 22. If that means doing assisted (from your knees) push-ups or that you have to stop and take a break that's fine but try to get them all done in one video. * Every day you must nominate a different person. Try to choose people you think will want to do this and/or have the ability to do it. * And finally, have fun with this. This is a simple and fun way to get the word out about a matter that more people need to be aware about. These brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms and its sad that so many veterans feel that suicide is the only way out.

Seated calf raises machine is one of my favourite calf exercise. As the calf muscles are very hard to grow, I train them twice a week.

Are you currently suffering from low back pain? If yes, read on......... Lower back pain commonly occurs when there’s a lack of hip extension flexibility. Our bodies need hip extension when we’re standing up from a seated position and pretty much with every single step we take. If the body can’t extend through the hips, it’s going to extend through the lower back and add stress to the spine and its discs. Do the below exercises to improve your hip extension: 1. Hip flexor stretch: 1 set for 30 seconds (Click on the link below for picture of Hip flexor stretch) http://api.ning.com/files/E2q56SVxnZcZJGjYV8b55qSkk9h1XoDjO6U7Zn*onzKsR5VKqbpKvKTr2xf2Nt3RmNkQgj8UikIMBSlUWKzdYzkq7Drog6wc/hipflexorstretch.jpg 2. Single leg bridges 1 set of 10 reps (hold for 2 seconds for each rep) (Click on the link below for picture of Single leg bridges) https://bretcontreras.com/wp-content/uploads/Single-leg-glute-bridge-300x221.jpg 3. Cross crawls 1 set of 10 reps (hold for 2 seconds for each rep) (Click on the link below for picture of Cross Crawls) http://www.newhealthadvisor.com/images/1HT03741/bird-dog.jpg With improved flexibility in the hips, your lower back will be less stressed!
I'm so glad to have done my gym session this morning. It's way too hot to train in this heat. My advice is train in the morning or after 8pm during hot days like this. And remember to keep drinking water!

Happy hump day! Did you know quadriceps has 4 different muscle groups? They are also the strongest and leanest muscle in the whole body. Make sure you do your squats!
