In my opinion a lacrosse ball is one of the best investments (approximately £4) for improving/maintaining mobility and solving a lot of commonly experienced pain. It allows for the practice of trigger point release on dis-functional muscle fibers causing referred pain and movement problems.

According to the NHS nearly half of all adults in the UK suffer with chronic back pain. The reality is that for many are suffering needlessly. With a few corrective exercises and possible lifestyle adjustments this pain can be remedied. Current lifestyles tend to involve a lot of sitting, as a result our glutes and core muscles become weak and ineffective. At the same time hip flexors and erector spinae (muscles that stabilize the spine) become tight and over worked. This is the most common cause of non impact related lower back pain.
This will not be hugely popular observation but, in my opinion, the number one reason most gym goers are unable to achieve their goals is simply that they do not train hard enough. I guarantee that most of the people you see regularly in your gym haven't got significantly stronger, leaner or bigger in the past year. They are probably in exactly the same place they were at the end of 2015 and before. This may even be you. For real results it you must get serious with your time in the gym. Be honest with yourself about how hard you are working. Get some headphones and leave the socializing/texting/web browsing for after your session!
Life is busy. This is just how it is. The reality is that there will never be a 'perfect' time to start a healthy lifestyle. Training and consistent good nutrition will take effort on your part, but if you really want a significant change the sooner you start the sooner you will get there. Don't put it off any longer...
