The Border Bryophytes met at Turnastone Court Farm on Sunday 27 November to survey the mosses and liverworts on the farm. The farmyards, the farm stone walls, the watercourses, the arable field, and the anthill meadows were all surveyed during the day, but there were still other habitats left to survey for another visit. 17 members of the Border Bryologists (Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, Shropshire Bryologists) attended what was a very informative and enjoyable day. 59 mosses and 9 liverworts were recorded during the day. Thank you to all who took part.

We had a lovely family morning 'getting festive with nature' at Mayfields last Saturday. Children and parents completed a Christmas nature trail, searching for presents and finding Winter wildlife facts. We also indulged in some seasonal crafts using natural materials: wool for Santa's beard, Rudolph's nose and angels; sycamore seed dragonflies, acorn baubles and pine cones...and of course plenty of glitter! Thanks to all those that came along.
