Another day done in clinic - this evening I have been busy working with a horse rider. Horse riders are always interesting and guaranteed if a rider has back issues then their horse won't be going straight. Horses are receptive to everything the rider is telling them. So if the pelvis is rotated, or back is tight on one side - this will result in abnormal weight distribution through the pelvis. The rider then inadvertently 'tells' the horse to go one way using their pelvis and feet (because one leg ends up 'longer') whilst they are trying to correct this with additional instructions. The poor horse is being given mixed messages - the problem isn't the horse. Well, keep riding a horse like this will then result in a problem with the horse too.
