Congratulations to SUBTITLE, winner of the Connolly’s Red Mills Intermediate Race at Kingston Blount on Saturday. Owned by Mr & Mrs Moylan, trained by Joan Johnston and ridden by the evergreen Phil York he led from start to finish and came home in splendid isolation! Connections felt he wasn’t finishing his races as well as he could last season. We performed an ’overground scope’ on him, which enabled us to make an accurate diagnosis of problem. He subsequently had a wind operation to sort the issue, which obviously did the trick!

With the start of the eventing season just round the corner (weather permitting!) we would like to remind our competition riders that as of 1st January 2018 RESPADRIL is now BANNED for horses competing under FEI rules. This is due to one of its component ingredients being added to the FEI list of Prohibited Substances meaning it is not permitted for use in the FEI competition horse at any time. Please contact Jennifer to discuss alternatives.

We would like to wish client Sharon Firmin the best of luck for tomorrow as she competes in the 351st running of the historic 'Newmarket Town Plate' on her horse 'San Siro'. This annual race, which was established by King Charles II and first run in 1666, takes place on the Newmarket Round Course, a course used only once a year exclusively for this race, over a distance of 3 miles 6 furlongs. It is limited to amateur riders not employed as jockeys, stable staff or grooms and marks the opening of the Newmarket July Festival. Have a great ride, Sharon and keep kicking!

I shall be attending the HIT section of the Goffs DBS Spring Sale for anyone wanting to have any potential purchases vetted or scoped.

This miniature Shetland filly definitely gets the prize for the smallest foal we've see so far this season!
