St. Mary's Catholic Primary School VISITS BRADFORD GRAND MOSQUE Throughout this week, Bradford Grand Mosque was delighted to welcome groups of year 5 and year 6 students from St. Mary's Catholic Primary School in Halifax. The students were studying Islamic Art as part of their religious curriculum and spent time at the grand mosque learning about the religion of Islam and took a keen interest in the beautiful architecture and calligraphy seen throughout the landmark site. The students also took out time during their visits to make sketches of the special shapes that made up some of the unique patterns and designs on display. The grand mosque tour guides helped to explain the significance of the shapes which they had seen and drawn on their sketchbooks and were delighted at the amazing artistic talent of the children. Each group of visiting students and teachers were given a full tour of the grand mosque facilities, enjoyed a variety of refreshments that had been prepared for them at the end of the tours before leaving with complimentary gift bags from the management team. MILAD-UN-NABI & GRADUATION CEREMONY A few weeks ago, amidst the heart of the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the annual Milad-un-Nabi Conference took place with its usual flare and flamboyance here at Bradford Grand Mosque as we once again welcomed renowned international scholars and visitors from around the UK. This year’s event also coincided with the annual graduation ceremony of students who have completed the five-year Darse-Nizami course taught here under the guidance of Qibla Hazrat Sahib, Shaykh Mohammad Habib-ur-Rehman Mahboobi. During the conference, orators in both English and Urdu expertly delivered their speeches on the significance, history and celebration of Milad-un-Nabi, as Nasheed artists also dazzled the full capacity crowd with eloquent recitations of salawat upon the Beloved Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The event continued late into the evening and concluded with the six Alim graduates receiving their certificates and being granted the traditional dastar along with duas of all those present. May Allah Karim accept every effort of those who spend their days and nights in study and in service of the Deen, may He enable us to be amongst the people of Ilm, or to be recognised as those who possess love and sincerity for them, Ameen. With Aleem Bashir and the rest of the ITS team last week at @bradfordgrandmosque for the unveiling of the official website. What I'd say was amazing was to see how a child who was 14 years old when he began in the young Al-Jamia Media Committee has been supported by the mosque to code the website. The child's only link was being a student at the mosque's supplementary educational department It's a true display of how mosque management should be. Ideas come forward and the youth are given the resources to develop them into a reality. Standards are always set at Suffa-Tul-Islam. This is one I hope others follow in. Well done to all the team.

On Friday our executive team was invited to the official website launch of @bradfordgrandmosque It was great to see some of the fantastic new features which included a historical time line of Suffa-Tul-Islam and a 360° Virtual Tour of the current facilities. It's excellent to see our mosques taking pride in showcasing their history and embracing futuristic technologies. Well done to all the brothers and sisters who worked hard at Suffa-Tul-Islam to deliver this. We pray others follow in these footsteps.
