No rest for the wicked!! This weekend I have been decorating the wife’s salon (GILDEDHAIR), changing up her already amazing hair salon. I love nothing more than hanging wallpaper, such a skill to get it right. Patterned paper can be tricky especially if the pattern is out or the wall is uneven ( thankfully myself and Ben Shirvill prepared this wall correctly first time round 😜) redecorating is always easier if the preparation work is done correctly...

Hanging wallpaper is never easy, there are so many thing to consider, as walls are rarely straight, we have to work around radiators, pipe work and plug sockets however the biggest through back for any decorator is lighting.... choosing a wallpaper that we like is one thing. Lighting in every room changes all the time according to natural light that flows through the windows, also artificial lighting in the room is key to how any pattern of wallpaper looks.. We have to also consider shadows from televisions, bookshelves and pictures that all hang from our walls .. always chat with your decorator about reflects and lighting that should be considered when decorating your house ..

I have now had another 5 days on the hall, stairs and landing and we are now fully finished. The walls have had there finished coat, the woodwork has had a satinwood finish and the stair bannisters have had 2 coats of light oak stain. #painting #perfection #transformingspaces #prepiskey.

Hey everyone, I have had 5 days on the hallway and all the filling and sanding has been done all new plaster work was mist coated, the woodwork has been knotted, primed and under coated, the ceiling has had 2 finished coats and the walls have had their first colour coat. #painting #Perfection #transformingrooms #prepiskey.

Next project is the hall, stairs and landings. A mixture of new build and existing features. Start with knotting the new woodwork and mist coating the plaster work. #painting #Perfection #prepwork #basicsarekey #transformingrooms.

The room is now finished so here are the start and finish photos. The walls have now had two coats of colour, the woodwork has had its satinwood and the feature wallpaper has been hung up. Happy to say very pleased clients. #painting #perfection #prepiskey #basicspayoff #transformingrooms.
