In another of our ‘meet the team’ features we give you *drum roll please* Jo, previously a stalwart of the early morning shift and now one of our afternoon team. In all the time she’s worked here she’s only had 1 episode off sick and never been late so is a true trooper! Jo has worked with us for 17 years having previously worked for the old Somerfields store around the corner. She originally started on the twilight shift in the Off Licence next door and then moving into the store when we closed the off licence ready to knock it into the shop. Having been one of the team for that length of time and working so many different shifts on our till she’s a familiar face to most of our customers…I bet she knows how more customers take their coffee than anyone else who works here! Outside of work…Jo’s recently become a grandmother for the third time and is looking forward to doting on her youngest granddaughter. The other loves of her life are Mindy and Franklin, her 2 French Bulldogs (and of course her husband Denis!).

We've got lots of lovely gifts for mums in store...flowers, chocolates & bubbles (to drink or for the bath!). No excuse to forget her ♥️

We've had customers telling us that they've struggled to find milk in shops today. We still have plenty of milk and bread in stock this evening :-)

A bit more of a flurry of snow over night but we're here...our customers are here...the bread is here...the newspapers are here...when SPAR get here with the milk then we've got a full house!

We are operating as normal through the snowy weather. All of our wonderful team have made it into work every day and most of our deliveries have been making it through. Warburtons have delivered to us this morning so no need to fret about sliced bread supplies today but we are running short of milk (until tomorrow's delivery). Please do call first though if you're wanting something specific and making a special journey to us :-)

Pick up our Springtime magazine in-store, packed full of recipe ideas, tips and money-off coupons. It's nice to think that spring is around the corner even if it's hard to see it through the snow! The magazine is free, but if you enjoy it, please make a donation in-store to the #NSPCC. We have a collecting jar for the NSPCC and have just donated £137 to them for the past 4 months of collections.

It's officially the last day for using the old tenners tomorrow. However, we'll happily accept them until Sunday 4th :-)
