Our #2minutebeachclean board is outside the visitor centre everyday 9am-5pm with litter pickers and bags. Help us keep the beach and burrows litter free. Bring your litter back here and we will dispose of it. North Devon Coast AONB #coastalcreatures

Toll charges will begin this Saturday for the summer season. Why not get a season ticket for only £35! Buy them at the toll gate with cash or a cheque made payable to Torridge District Council.

Looks at this crazy caterpillar, which we spotted in the dunes earlier. Sometimes known as 'woolly bears' this is a Garden Tiger Moth larvae. It gets this nickname from the thick hair that covers it body. This hair acts as a deterrent to predators that would otherwise gobble up this caterpillars as a tasty treat!

There are lots of lovely lambs in the park at the moment, it's a wonderful sight to see and a sure sign of spring! Please make sure dogs are kept under control at all times.

We had a fantastic time on our rockpool ramble this afternoon. We found a Montague Blenny, Shannys, Prawns and loads of Shore Crabs!!!
Torridge District Council
TDC are undertaking improvement works at the Westward Ho! entrance to make vehicle access easier and safer. Please be aware this entrance will be closed from Tuesday the 18th of April for 4 weeks. During this period please use Pimpley (Sandymere Road) or Appledore entrances instead. Thanks to Dave Edgcombe from North Devon Coast AONB for leading another fantastic History Walk. Today we took a look at Victorian Westward Ho! and in the beautiful Devon sunshine it's no wonder they decided to build a holiday resort here 150 years ago! We had a fantastic turn out for our 'Great Easter Eggcase Hunt' yesterday which was led by Cat Oliver from the North Devon Coast AONB as part of the #coastalcreatures project! Amongst the amazing shore life we found lots of interesting eggcases which will contribute to an important national survey by the Shark Trusts!

Don't forget we are having a super swallows event at the Burrows Centre tomorrow (6/4/17) 2-4pm. Make your own swallow's nest and a bird feeder to encourage these brilliant birds into your garden!!
