We're just saying ......... ✌🏻 To help you manage your dogs coats during the winter! This year, as happens every year we are having customers request that their dogs are left longer and/or the times extended between grooming appointments, as owners think their dogs will feel cold if trimmed as normal. If a dogs coat is left longer, it’ll stay wet for longer when the dog comes home from a wet muddy walk. It’s similar to us getting soaking wet in a pair of jeans - not nice is it! If there are knots in a dogs coat when it gets wet & owners fail to comb them out, which is more likely to occur if a coat is left longer, as the coat dries the knots dry tighter & tighter each time. Multiply this by 7 daily wet walks a week & it won’t take long for a dogs coat to become a knotted & matted mess that has to be clipped down short. So rather than go longer in between trims & leaving coats longer in the winter, the exact opposite is actually advisable. Groomers advise regular schedules for a reason, we understand coat growth & maintenance & know what is required to keep your dogs looking the way that you like.
